Questions about a chip rail have been asked and this is our explanation. After the new owners took over the DS.com site there was a conversion of the site to create the present day look. Also, we hired a technician to help us test each page and look for glitches, dead links, and antiquated email address. The person who supplied the information for the table plans had a personal email address that was no longer valid. The old email address has been deleted. There is no way to know who this person was and the part about the chip rail maybe should be eliminated. My guess is that the tech guy did not do this because his job was to fix things like broken links, remove dead links and he did not have authority to make copy changes. The Dice Coach sells a throwing station with a chip rail. It is made from a single piece of wood 4.5 inches wide by � inch. Looks like mahogany or some dark wood without knots. The grooves for the chips appear to be milled with a half moon bit. Perhaps a router table was used. Then the piece of wood was pushed through the router to mill the grooves, one side and then the other. With the station I have and describe here, the chip rail is not very functional and the rail needs to be milled deeper. I am suggesting wood for the rail perhaps 1 inch to 1.5 inches in thickness. This is my best guess and attempt for a suggestion. I do not know if the table plans you have are for curved corners. What I described would work okay for square corners. Also, perhaps the bit was held in a drill press with a fence and the board pushed through twice. Ilani casino in ridgefield wa. These are my suggestion and limited to my knowledge of woodworking. You can make money in the Casinos, people do it everyday. Its just you can't do it with DI because that is a Myth that Mr. Clean sells people who are looking for easy street and fast riches. Now, if you are ready to work for your money, then you can scrap it off the tables in the casino. Its not easy and it is not fast riches, however people do. I get asked quite often buy my customers “how do I get the same bounce as the casino craps table”. Depending on the bounce you want I recommend vinyl for a smaller bounce of dice and for a trampoline bounce 1/8″ closed cell volara foam. Both need to get sprayed down to the plywood with no air underneath. Then stable your layout above.
This is one very interesting topic as I have always wondered how a Craps table is made, and since I’ve loved the game for over 20 years, always wanted one of my own.
I honestly believe that a finished Craps table can be classified as a piece of art.

I have limited space so I need to have a mini tub style 1.8m (6ft) – 2.4m (8ft)
I’ve looked and looked for a place that sells them but alas can’t seem to find anywhere. If you know of somewhere please leave me a comment.
In the absence of buying one, I’ll have to make one, or convince someone else with more woodworking skills and equipment to build one for me as a worthy project. I’m thinking maybe one of the local Mens Sheds would be able to help me out for a nice donation to their very worthy cause.
I think it all starts with the felt layout, so I’m going to source that first and then build the table up around it.
I’ll be documenting the journey, which is the purpose of this website for my own selfish diarised record and others will benefit as well.
